No they aren't. They could easily be retooled to work just like the gameboy versions.

Then what's the point of the DS then? You should just be saying "The DS sucks and gives options to developers they don't need to explore."

I never said get rid of the touch controls, I said make them optional.

The touch screen is a single (though very large) feature of the DS, but it isn't the entire console. Games don't need to be locked to touch controls unless it's something like kirby canvas curse where it makes 100% sense for that to happen.
