A majority of my complaints come from the new evolution methods.
Needing an attack to evolve? Area-based evolution? 3 new stones that could easily be replaced with older ones.
I don't care if it screws up the continuity, I prefer that over giving us real oddball methods of evolution.
I mean, I liked Tyrogue's creative evolution, but this is going too far.
That's because they were making it closer to a 2nd Gen sequel. All the Johto and Kanto references made it seem like the 3rd Gen was forgotten.
