Have you ever considered to, you know, shade them in your own style rather than a smaller version of D/P/Pt?
Also, he's probably kind of flat because I only used two references, which is my own fault because both references (the Sprite & the Artwork) are at a similar Angle If I had a Reference that's at a Different Angle (like the Shadows of Almia Artwork for Gible) I could've seen more of how I would shade it
In short (too late) I'm fixing that now, going back to how I originally had it shaded (Dark fin to differentiate it) and I'll change the head up a little bit, and probably get rid of the dithering, which I have to say I rarely use anyway
