yeah, but s1 was the establishment of a new series so your argument is basically killed right there
obviously a brand new series would be like that
anyway aside from sega doing it from a money standpoint, what kind of sense does it make to rehash the old games anyway? Especially since they pulled the sequel card, meaning this happens after S1-S3K, why is robotnik going back to his old machines that sonic has already beaten?
Same with metal sonic. It looks as if he's going to be introduced in the next episode, which makes no sense seeing as he's been out for forever.
Though I personally don't consider Sonic CD to be canon so if you take that in mind it sort of makes sense.
Still though. Sega just fucked up the entire canon with this. They don't care anymore.
