There are two methods
1- The most accurate way is to use tile molester to open the rom and get the sprites directly from it. But many (like myself) really can't use this tool, it requires some practice and patience
2- The second way is to get a program called AnimGet, which takes screenshots each 10 millisecond when running and use it together with the GBA emulator, Visual Boy Advance. On Visual Boy Advance, you can turn off the layers you don't want/need, so all you have to do is a simple copy-paste work
