To be honest in the future I think we'll see that the PS3 and 360 have nearly the exact same games. Gamers will then be given a choice:
a) an excellent, but not free, online service on a paper machine with hamsters in it
b) a working console but with poor online and weird shoulder buttons
Seriously though I was playing Braid today (which is more than £10.20 as you can't just spend £10.20 on Microsoft points - which is ass. Go PSN for using CURRENCY) and it woke my Girlfriend up in the other room. Was it the music? No I had headphones in - it was the 360. The 360 is so damn noisy. It destroyed my Rock Band CD and the dashboard takes a crap load of time loading the marketplace ever since I updated it. Seriously this hardware is a bag of crap. Yes it has more games but it's so unreliable, noisy, slow (had to wait 10 minutes for Market Place to load - Braid took 5 minutes to download...) and loves going RRoD as soon as you start getting into a game (GTA IV was traded in for the PS3 version - that's bad) I actually hate it. I want to hurt my 360 for the pain it has done to me. It's like dying from thirst and being handed a glass of ice cold water only to find shit has been smeared around the top and there's a turd floating in it.
The PS3's hardware is gold. Seriously when do you hear about PS3 hardware faults? And it has a nice D-pad (making Bionic Commando Rearmed so much better) but sadly doesn't have that many a great game. I don't think I could name 20 must buy PS3 games even if it is my console on choice.
The Wii is good and crap. It has so much shovel-ware it makes me cry. Metroid Prime 3 (which has good controls - the NGC controls sucked - why wasn't there an option to use the standard FPS controls?) is one of the few good games. I seriously don't know why the Wii is doing so well except that it's got a huge marketing campaign and people buy gimmicky crap (look how much WiiFit sold...) No More Heroes, Mario Kart, Brawl and Metroid 3 are really all that interest me on it. Sure those games are good and Brawl and Karts are some of the best multi-player games you can play with friends sitting at home but the sales figures don't match what is actually on offer if you ask me.
