First off, anything 4Kids does is invalid. So ignore the Kirby anime dub. Go with the Japanese version of the anime instead. That's canon to the Kirby universe.
The games may never draw from the anime except for art style (in fact Nintendo/HAL has done this since Nightmare in Dream Land), but there's also the chance Nintendo/HAL may start to incorporate more elements from the anime in future games. Also manga and movies may use the anime to further expand the Kirby universe in Nintendo/HAL could draw from in making future games.
Back on-topic, Baby Kirby looks good if you ignore the anime in it's entirety.
