Ripping Questions

So, say I`d want to rip a sprite from a NES game, how would I GET the game in the first place, to be able to rip sprites from it?
edit:
And would there be a way to select sprites in games so the program rips it for you? So you don`t have to take a million screenshots and then take away everything you don`t want all the time...

Roms(games) are illegal so we can't post links here.
Write ''NES roms'' on google.
You also need an emulator like nesticle or FCEUltra to run them.
