it is something that you "get right", it isn't something that progressively gets better the more there is - there is either too little to do, in which case the gameplay concepts are wasted and potential is lost, or there is too much to do, and the gameplay concepts are padded and dragged out longer than they should be
length, simply put, has no bearing on the quality of the game concepts themselves.
