I suggest you to take a look at the ripped Sparkster game sprites found in the site's main page and study them so could applly the needed changes to your character: http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/sp...index.html

And I haven't been? Blank

judging from what you have done so far, no.

And you're help wasn't as helpful as you would think it to be.

Sparkster and his enemies use their color scheme to their advantage, so you always could figure where are their hands, or where are their feet, arms, waist, etc at any moment, no matter what move or animation they are doing at that moment. Also, they have thin limbs and exagerated feet and hands.
Your character uses orange as it's main color, but also uses it to it's hand and feet, which makes them blend with the body at first sight. It's thick limbs makes also difficult to figure where the different parts of it's body begins and ends, and it's weird leg stance makes it's legs look as if they were broken.
The torso is also badly defined, as it looks like a rectangle w/o any clear areas like chest, waist and shoulders as in sparkster and his enemies's case.

That's why I told you to examine the game sprites and then compare your own sprite with them.

Baggy clothes: They obscure everything. That and Cat's feet don't entirely lay flat on the ground. AND SORRY FOR USING CORRECT BODY ANATOMY! JEEZ!
Look I don't need help with the SHAPE of the sprite (there are a few things that I noticed that need work anyhow like making a simple enough base to check and see if I got the arms and rest of the body right). The SHADING and HOW IT IS SHADED is what I want critique on here. It's all of you guys thinking it's not in the style of the sprite at all because it doesn't fit the SHAPE of the style when the only thing that I wanted to figure out how to do is the SHADING style. Everything else you're telling me is irrelevant to what I WANT to get done! T_T
