However, the kart floats just 1 pixel in the lowest tiles of the sprite, so I could move the entire sprite down one pixel and see what if it does anything to the sprite in-game. I'll worry about it later. Anyways, here is an image in the tile editor and an image in-game. I didn't bother with putting the palette in the game yet, but I have one for Yun saved. I'll replace the Mario one later. I was just focusing on getting it in the game. And for future reference, the maximum sprite size is 32x32 pixels (in the editor at least). I also found out that the only thing different about Luigi's sprite is his head and palette. He shares his body with Mario. Your Yun sprite's head fits perfectly within those boxes, so I guess whoever is making the Yang sprite just needs to recolor the body and make the head. :/ That sure saves a lot of time. About the ponytail issue, I'm not quite sure if I can make the front and back sprites asymmetrical because the only tiles in the game that don't contain graphics contain ROM data, which means I could seriously mess up the game if I tried. However, I could see if Lunar Expand works on Super Mario Kart (doubt it) and if it would add more tiles to the game. Again, I doubt it will. And even if it did, it would be difficult to make it asymmetrical, but I could give it a shot.
Yun, the best I could do, considering I couldn't put his pony tail in cause of the fact the sprite using a mirror effect to save on tiles. Not sure if you can change this?
If you have proof that you can edit the racers into your custom ones then I will help - not a great deal I have a busy life - but I can help.
EDIT: I expanded the ROM to 4 MB in SNEStuff, and it worked. There is a shitload of new, unused tiles. Like, 4 times as many at very least! I wouldn't advise making asymmetrical sprites just yet, but I'll let everyone know when and if I figure out how to make sure that those mirror tiles use some of the unused ones instead of mirroring themselves. And if I can figure that out, I might even be able to add several extra cups to the game and maybe even more tilesets! It would take a long time for me to figure out, but I might be able to pull it off. I hope I do! That would be so awesome!
