I admit people can be brutal sometimes but this is not the case. These are sound advice people are giving.

anyways, I want to touch on this a second. Not sure if it'll turn into a text wall, but just /go with me/ and we'll see where this takes us

I know i'm asking a lot, and i'm truly sorry for that.

Stop acting like you're inferior and that you don't deserve to get critique. Seriously, people who act like that are almost as annoying as the people who completely disregard any critique that they receive just because it hurts their ego and they don't want to accept that they're not God's Gift To Spriting And Pixel Art. The people who give critique here are for the most part, fairly harsh when doing so. I'll admit that this is partly my fault for starting the whole "blunt critique is the best critique" deal awhile back, but that doesn't suddenly make it not true.

As much as I hate doing this(because I feel like I've broken down this exact post around 12 times), Let me explain this post to you

That's because Smithy's stuff isn't horrible, this looks like you spent literally 30 seconds on it

At first glance, it comes off as me just being a dick.
And I was being a dick.
But that's not the point, the point is that when you get comments like this, chances are that the person giving the comment feels you're competent enough to take the post and form some sort of coherent thought as to why they would say that. "this looks like you spend literally 30 seconds on it" should spur some sort of thought that makes you try to figure out what's wrong with it and attempt to fix it yourself without having someone hold your hand every step of the way. It may not be this way on other forums, but here, (most) people don't hold back just because something might hurt your feelings.
