oh wow are you JarJar's long lost brother or something? :o
anyway, if the sprite is cut by the screen, I can suggest two basic things:
1-see if the sprite you want is used as whole in the game and then rip from there, or
2-use an especific ripping program or edit some stuff in the rom to grab it.
I don't know what programs to use when ripping DS stuff, so this is all I can say.
