how about having link transported to the new land, similar to the way he was in the other two games. when he arrives, he meets Impa- like the other games and while Farone isn't looking impa accidentally reads from the book a calling spell or something that brings Betrum back from the dead? Betrum blames his death and possible imprisonment on the book of secrets and removes all the secrets from it and because Farone is the keeper of the book imprisons her so she cannot write in the book anymore. link has the book of secrets from the start but cannot use it doesn't know how to until later in the game. Betrum's goal is to use the secrets that he stole from the book of secrets to restore himself to his true form to conquer the world?

i skimmed most of this topic and didn't really see any solid story.
