There are a good number of official Pokemon sprites that are heavily inspired by or flat out copies of pre existing art. However, I still encourage original poses. I'm ok with having a handful of "rip off" poses, as long as the project isn't flooded with them.
My only real problem is that the pose is now exactly the same as the reference. I know it was similar before, but I had originally intended to do a different pose entirely, and when I started drawing it just came out similar. I tried to make is as though the front legs were almost pawing the ground, rather than just hanging there.
A small update today. I just added the newest Nidorina, and I tried a new Nidoran (F). Also, small edits to Aerodactyl.
