i think the same applies to you deleting the posts, kat: you don't like it, move on. i don't think it's the appropriate way to deal with the subject.
i don't think erasing messages, even hostile ones, will remedy the situation, especially if it's after everybody's read them. even proactively i think i have the right to know who and what is said, offensive or not. and i also think it is our right to respond or not to these type of messages, too.
i don't think an "ignorance is bliss" attitude is going to fix things, especially as i think we are presently entrenched in something deeper than a PJAMA/lu9 crisis and squabbling, and it's not going to be fixed by deleting members' posts.
yes, as a moderator and part of the forum staff you are supposed to contain/ suppress/ ban negative vibes/ whatever creates them on the forum, but my question is: is it through deleting, locking and banning that we enter a period of appeasement or happiness? no, sadly i don't think so.
i've said this before but the solution is more on the members themselves. it's not so much the posts that bother me, it's who's posting's attitude. and deleting posts/locking does not seem to me like the rightful sanction.
