Gorsal and Chad (and for the most part kori) Are making a lot of sense to me at the moment.

Maybe this sounds really gay but when i'm on the internet, TSR always feels like home, and if we all just got along like we used to then it would be great again.

i'm not saying you have to make an effort to be friends with 14 year old newcomers who quote 4chan memes. But at least treat them with enough respect so that they feel they are welcome. And when they see that our sense of humor is different to ours, if we accept them, they will change and instead talk about things we all find mutually interesting.
If someone is blatantly trolling, even when your treating them respect, do everyone a favor, and ignore them and let a mod take care of it.

so, if they're quoting 4chon and feel like the internet revolves around them (pjama?) we're supposed to treat them with respect? and if they're not funny, we just accept it and hope they'll stop trying to be funny and try to post about things that we'll hopefully jive with?

I think if we just adhere to the golden rule from first grade ("do unto others as you would have others do unto you") in forum etiquette I think we'll do just dandy. tl;dr if they're initially kind, we be kind back. if they start getting all defensive..um, nothing wrong with defending out beliefs
and, i think if someone's not funny we're good just upfront admitting it to the person. maybe not so harshly as we usually do, but if someone's not funny, they simply just suck at it. habeeb it
