look at that fucking hipster.
Also: yeah i think beat 'em up that's paying homage to retro games (and just about the entire premise of Scott Pilgrim IS simultaneous throwback, rep and tongue-in-cheek humor) wouldn't really want to be "anything new" to the mix. the point is to keep it old-school. and respect.
If you knew this beforehand, that it was paying homage to old games (read the description on PSN)
you have no excuse to be disappointed by its lack of innovation. The only thing that's mold-breaking is the graphics and music, but...yeah, if you're a sir you'll probly hate it (dont worry we're all sires here)
I happen to like it because I'm a fan of the series and even though I don't like Paul Robertson that much, his pixelart suits the game well. It's pretty fluid and crisp compared to the old-school beat 'em ups I've played.
and i fucking love old-school beat 'em ups
if you don't like this game or the demo, you probably need to make some friends IRL
because I think with friends you'll find this game to be pretty entertaining and some friggin great co-op play can be had. its single player is decent, but not AMAZING - but at least you have some incentive to finish the game.
