Independent, like, has the freedom to make games for every console.

For example, Behemoth, which made Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid HD.

Or as Shawn said, Level-5, which made Professor Layton and those games based off the Inazuma 11 games.

Last time I checked, Activision is independent too.
