Well, Zerox, quite honestly you're REALLY not saving much quality when you've already gotten rid of the original sharp quality by blurring it and you've stretched it to such an unreasonable resolution anyway. You could just get the same thing by enlarging the image in Paint.net or something again.
And you honestly can't tell me that this: http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/4194/ruto1grp.png
Is a good use of the resolution compared to this: http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/1047/...4dfxxt.png
Without making yourself look silly.
Another thing that would help though is if they were saved as compressed .png's rather than leaving them uncompressed. It more than doubles the file size by leaving them uncompressed and when you're talking about a difference of an unneeded half a megabyte per model for a game that has many, many things in it than it WILL make a sizeable difference in the end. Its especially ridiculous to me that using the original textures with regular compression would take up quite literally around a 20th of the space that the current model archives he's submitting take up. Go look at at the starfox 64 models for a very good example of how compact an N64 model can be with its file size, textures and all.
Point is, this topic is quite similar to the blank space thing that gets made a big deal of in the Sprite section of this site. It just ends up taking up unneeded space for no real reason. Sorry for my rant, but that's how I feel on the subject.
But nice job with Princess Ruto Zerox, I'll put that version up instead of the other one.
