Double post because I give no fuck. Now featuring Skype rambling about story ideas!
So the deal with Moramanti still happened, and COREs are weaponised
at the same time a different scientist is researching remote-range combat methods; a new way to put COs into the action
He comes up with a method that runs like a card game. Cards with inbuilt radio frequencies and commands to give instructions to units to go to specific places when placed on a specially designed command map
It's pretty revolutionary, and lot of (unimportant and far away) skirmishes use the tech
Moramanti buys out the idea (or vice verca) and soon the tech can command COREs, and can be used within a CORE
BUT!
The tech was released by a hacker to the general public
without context, and unaware that the military are actually using this shit, that card game catches on, and becomes and underground sensation.
Then Moramanti or the Tactician scientist sees some actual profit in this and commercialises it
They can't actually command real armies, but the technology is oh so vaguely similiar
Factions keep an eye on regional tournaments and stuff; and scout up and coming tacticians to use in REAL wars
releaseing it as a CCG is kind of ingenious in a way, its like mkaing amazing profit off of a huge commercial product
plus having a bunch of obsessed teens
figure out the most impressive war strategies for you
BUT REALLY THEY ARE FUNDING WARS
