Too many new sonic characters?

I think Waluigi's fine as he is, personally. But this is a bit off topic.

Sonic has had too many characters since Big, bless his fat cat heart, was introduced. No point changing now. If Rush has proved anything, cutting the amount of characters isn't gonna bring the series back to its former glory. At least... not alone.
