I cannot thank the above post enough.
It's Kirby Super Star, but even better.
Crystal Shards was good, but I hate collection metagames. Also, while ability-mixing was great, I think it could have been handled a bit better; there were too many abilities that were nearly useless, as well as possibly too many abilities that were just TOO useful.
Squeak Squad was abysmal for a Kirby game. It had a few useless abilities, and handled ability-mixing pretty badly. The only good things to come out of SqSq were the revival of Ninja ability and the Squeak Squad's battle theme.
And both of them lacked Wheelie Bikes.
By the by, my first Kirby game was Pinball Land.
