Hey guys.
Rhythm games are just for fun. I love to play Rock Band when I have all my school work done and there's nothing else on my schedule. It's just one of those games that never got old for me, perhaps due to my genuine love of music. Naturally, when I see someone scold the series because it supposedly distracts us from playing a "real" instrument, I can't help but feel some annoyance. I shouldn't have to be told how to live my life; I won't tell you how to live yours. Ultimately, the main reason I don't bother to learn a real instrument is I don't want to. Learning a real instrument takes a lot of practice and determination, and when I'm looking for a way to escape the stress of school and work, that doesn't sound the least bit appealing.
As for the "death" of Guitar Hero, really the only way that this can negatively affect me is, given that Rock Band just lost its biggest competitor, they might choose to take it easy on the innovating and supplying an enormous amount of content.
