I would say that anyway; whether emulation existed or not. If I heard a great song on the radio, and it was by a lesser-known artist; damn straight I'd look into getting a copy.
In a way I helped contribute to the success of Lupe Fiasco.
The same is true of games. I went to a History of Video Games exhibition when I was a kid, and you could play Sonic Adventure 2. I fell entirely in love with City Escape, and got the PAL copy on release day.
