The only one I can think of right now is the Sonic 2 Oil Ocean boss: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ydf-iPRwGg

Its not really tentacles, but they move that way. There are a few other things like that in the series I think, but most of them were done in pretty much the same way as that.
