no, those were logical steps in the development of the television
the step after HD should be 4k, not 3D
especially considering that there are many people (me included) who can't see 3D very well (or at all), meaning that from a business standpoint, this is alienating tons of potential customers
i understand that they're pushing 3D because it's harder to pirate 3D stuff, but seriously, making it the new industry standard?
