It's looking fine to me.

I hope it's not just Sonic on his own, though. I'd appreciate some Knuckles action. To be honest, it's not the inclusion of Sonic's friends that are the problem, it's how well they are implimented into the gameplay. Shadow was fine (and well liked!) until his gun and vehicle gimmicks got in the way of the traditional game flow in Sonic games. Blaze's appearances are almost never decried because she doesn't dominate the plot, and her gameplay mechanics are well implimented.
