Except Braviary and Mandibuzz aren't really the same Pokemon at all. They're just counterparts, like Tauros and Miltank.

A better example of a "Nidoran" would be Volbeat and Illumise, because Illumise (a female-only species) eggs can hatch into Volbeat (male-only). Then Latios and Latias also kind of share this connection (they can't reproduce in-game but the anime showed Latias eggs hatching into Latios).
