Action RPGs Megathread (Guild Wars 2!)

Would the original Dungeon Crawler really be considered an RPG? It kind of struck me as just an adventure game, and later games in the genre just took on some (or a lot of) RPG elements.

Either way, dungeon crawlers looks like an interesting genre; I've been planning one as a side project for sometime. The randomly generated levels is probably my favorite part.

Well, there are the original turn-based ones, like Wizardry and Nethack. And the action ones are a spinoff of that. I want to say Gauntlet was the first, but don't quote me on that. And the modern Gauntlets use stats and everything.
