TEXTURES: help!!!!
#3
weeeeelll, as fuchikoma pointed out, you kind of have to have an idea what you WANT to use it for first.
erm.

it's like downloading sprites from tSR and then asking "hey guys what do i do with these sprites, help me!!"
or going into a store and buying wallpaper and then going "hey hey i just bought me a roll of wallpaper, but what do i do with it??"
first of all, if you don't know what they're for, maybe you don't need them? there's a saying that goes like that.

textures, or texture maps are images used to "map" colors, textures, details, etc to low-resolution 3d models. so there is really only one real way you could use a texture map: if you had the 3d models and you knew/figured out how they mapped it to the image.
AND THEN for those to be truly useful, you would have to rig/skin the 3d model with bones so you'd have to pose the models. otherwise, you'd just have a "3d statue" in a stationary/standard pose. and rigging is really complex work, that's why people get payed to do this stuff.

imo, these downloadable textures and models are only really good for studying how the companies worked with 3d. come to think of it, same with the sprites we can download.

tl;dr: if you don't know what you're going to do with something, don't download it
