okay so the problem with the new weapons

this is probably the worst possible inclusion by the TF2 team
not because it breaksthe art style or because it's yet another soldier pack or other trivial things like that
these things are eating computers alive
note how each weapon has close to 11,000 polygons (the Primary actually goes above this) whereas the Soldier model itself has only 8000.
And each of the projectiles from the weapons hits 4000 polygons.
This isn't the only problem, though; the core of it all is that there's no LODs for any of these new inclusions.
So, let's think about this: the crafting recipe's incredibly low compared to the Uber items (reclaimed + black box, right?). This means a LOT of people are going to have it. And when a lot of people have a new weapon, they're all going to use it. And now you're getting about six to ten soldiers in a single game with 11,000-polygon weapons firing off 4000 polygon projectiles. And the computer has to draw it all, since there's nothing to compensate the heavy polygon count.
Which really blows, since this is a legitimately serious problem :C
