the pallete is p much ripped straight off that face 1up made a while ago because i have no clue how to colour skin. is there a trick to making a good pallete or do you just feel it out

once i get my own colours going i guess i'll reshade the thing, as it looks hella derivative right now. any pointers at all would be marvellous
