If you dont care if they look like actual POKEMON or not, skip this paragraph and go onto the next one. I think what everyone is seeing is that these are done a bit too large, they are 111 by 111 where pokemon are 96 by 96, also, they are much more detailed than actual pokemon, look at slacking for how they do fur, they put somewhat defined furry edges, use a bit of dithering, then leave the rest smooth as a ken doll left and up to imagination. They also use different colors, like, when they use red, they actually use a pale, contrasting orange, brown, or pink, and for the metal parts, make them
Regardless of poke-likeness, if you give these guys more contrast I think it would make them look a lot better. The coloring you've done for them now looks more like they were made for a Final Fantasy instead of a pokemon-like game. They are designed, however, to be (like pokemon) anime/cartoonish-animals.
Thats all I can think of now (besides adding a -stache to that scorpion/dog/guitar, I'm thinking either freddie mercury or hulk hogan), if you want to keep the style you have right now, I'd suggest looking at final fantasy sprites for more help style-wise (I'm only help with basic design choices) if you want to continue the way you're doing it now
So in summary, use more contrast, use a bit less detail, make them smaller. Also, try to make less human ones, and try to make more animals.
Im probably not much help though, sorry.
