Random isometric buiding (need help with coloring and texturing and everything)
#1
So this is my first time ever trying isometric. It's a very unfinished WIP segment of a building that will actually have several more stories on top of it.

I'm generally sucking at making good palette choices. Basically, the intended aesthetic for this is a heavy black, desaturated, rough-around-the-edges, dirty sort of look. I can't figure out how to get the palette to accomplish this. At first I wanted that sort of limited-palette look where all the colors are shaded with the same color, but that didn't work. Then I tried that look where the highlights are greyed out, but that didn't work either.

Also it's currently covered with all sort of fail attempts at texturing. I don't know whether more or less contrast on the palette overall would make the textures look better. Or how many unique shades to add to the palette to have the textures work better.

Help, please. >:

(Also can anyone direct me to some sprites that kind of sound like the style I'm going for, to use as reference?)
