Welp, I did a quick play of the first world (and I mean quick; it took about 20-30 minutes at most). It seems to be a simple amalgamation of several other Kirby games, featuring Kirby Super Star's ability system, a few level and world design things taken from Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland, and the collection aspect of Kirby 64. Level designs are pretty straightforward; you literally can just run through the first 4 levels.
Of course, I'm not sure 4 levels and fight against Whispy (please don't say this is a spoiler, because if you know Kirby at all, you know Whispy is the first boss) is enough to judge the whole game (and if it were, I'd say it's a decent Kirby game, fairly mindless as it is). Though, it is certainly the easiest first world I've ever played. There also really is that feel of "same old same old" that has been around since KatAM.
@Dazz, really, all main Kirby games are pretty generic platformers.
