Convince everyone it's a holiday not for buying materialistic items and gifts, but for celebrating the birth of the savior of the Christian religion?

which it'd be especially silly to get upset about
since Christmas is sort of a mishmash of saturnalia and winter solstice anyway (as well as the obvious Christian influence... hence the name ;v )
