It’s a great joy for me to post these spritesheets. As you can notice, I’m a hardcore fan of “Heroes of Might and Magic” (HoMM) series, with is a spin-off of “Might and Magic” (MM) series. I personally don’t like this MM games (to be honest, I don’t like any game with first-person view), but these three games I’m ripping has the same graphics of HoMM3.
More than 10 later its releasing, Heroes III still was many fans. Many mods were made and the idea is to turn this game into a “open source” like MUGEN and OpenBOR. The most famous projects are In The Wake of Gods (WOG), VCMI and Horn of the Abyss (HOTA). In these modifications, new creatures and new castles are an important feature. It’s common to see cheap pallete variations and odd combinations, between the best custom creatures, we find the adaptations from MM (VI, VII and VII) which were designed like Heroes 3 units (same artists, same softwares). Many people uses Warcraft and Civilization as source, these games have great graphics, but sometimes they don’t fit with Heroes original units.
Well, I hope these submissions make these graphics even more accessible, for the good of all Heroes fans.
(OK, thanks for the fairy tale, now stop the lesson and give us the sprites!!!)
