Most people do it just for fun, because they have fond memories of old games or just want to use it for own purposes (games, comics, etc.).

I always take breaks and ripping stuff later, no big deal. Honestly, Models and Textures are fun to look at (icon-/sheet-wise), but they are kind of useless for me. And since I'm not really interested in them (and I guess you too), I see no point why I should ever stop ripping stuff which I like, just because people tend to rip more models/textures.

But well, have fun (didn't know how to end this post properly, so you can call me lazy and uncreative xD).
