I do it all the time with new games I get. It's a great way to save money, since if you try the game the day you buy it, you can just return it in most cases the next day.
But when I feel like playing GOOD games I might play stuff like Saints Row the Third and Skyrim...
Why do I feel so out of place here!?
And if it's an older game you could trade it in towards a game you know you'll like. So far, this has been a very rewarding practice for me. The only game I've had to pay actual cash for from September 2011 to now was a $20 DS game.
I managed to get Kirby Mass Attack, Professor Layton 4, Kirby's Return To Dream Land, Sonic Generations, Super Mario 3D Land, The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword, Mario Kart 7, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, Sonic 06(Don't ask), de Blob 2, Viva Pinata all for $0, all credit. I also discounted Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 to $20 with store credit.
I'm more surprised I had enough games I didn't care about to save what is roughly a $400 value.
