There are people who went and got the 3DS just for MML3, and the price drop for the console was before it was cancelled, making the system less valuable, and by then, your chance to get a refund is expired or you can't return it once opened at all.

I'd just like to say that buying a video game console for a single game that doesn't even exist fully at that point is kind of a silly thing to do, and anyone mad about wasting their money when they find out that the game is called off has their own foolishness to thank.
