What kind of polygon issues are you talking about? And really, separate heads are not a problem except when you want to render. Anyone who plans on using the model can easily combine the pieces on their own. If the polygon issues you mentioned aren't too bad, I still encourage you to rip them.
As for the model, it actually links to Mario and not Silver, but that's okay, because it's still a model to check.
The first thing to mention is that you put in the actual BRRES file instead of an OBJ. We can't accept game files, so be sure to take them out if you have them in any of the other submissions.
The only other issue is a minor one, and it's that the DAE uses absolute paths for the texture names instead of relative ones. This post shows you how you can easily correct it, if you don't already know how. No re-exporting necessary, just a text editor is needed.
And of course, it would be great if you included rips of the high-poly models, even if they are in pieces, as long as they're not messed up.
