I wanted to add those comments somehow, so that's why I added those 'taunt bubbles'. A line in every start of the match would be hilarious too, all the ideas coming omg..

uh I think my idea was misconstrued a bit by other posters. >:

Custom quips during matchups are *only* played during those matchups.

Intros, uh, how would that work

First intro animation plays. Character-specific intros could be a thing; but then a dialogue between the characters plays. The example I gave was KOF; it's in SNK VS Capcom Chaos.


Each character has a back-and-forth dialogue that lasts about 3 lines max per character.

GUILE: You sure are strong. But your evil's getting in the way of your moves.
IORI: Silence!
GUILE: Nothing comes of evil. And that means... you can't beat me, baby!
IORI: Enough prattle... Continue to hinder me ...and die!

See, THIS would be cool - but for like, rivals?
have like a "WARNING: RIVAL INCOMING" with a longer dialogue between the two, and then custom voice quips midgame.

what I mean is like, in SSF4 you have rival matchups before the final boss (it's to give some storyline closure)
During the match, as previously mentioned, in that game's rival matches, different VS music plays, the beginning cutscene is longer and each character has additional voice clips that are used that are typically not used in normal matches or even VS matchups.

"I will win this fight!" after Cammy's first hit, Juri's "This is gonna be good!" at mid-health, Cammy's "Too skilled for you, am I?" at Juri @ critical, and Cammy's "THIS IS FOR MY SISTERS!" upon activation of her ultra would be primary examples here. Those clips are typically not played when using the character normally.


i'd be psyched about this idea just for the closeup headshots are the beginning of the round lol
