I'm sorry to say this, but the way he quits is weak in my eyes.
Not that I cared much for the series (because of the long waits for starters). It really bugs me that people just cut the project halfway. The least he could have done is wrap the series up in a final episode.
You simply cannot have an attitude like that when you're doing this for real.
I'm not trying to come off as a raging fanboy, because I'm not. It's just that 'lack of motivation' is a lazy reason for leaving a project unfinished.
I lacked motivation several times to work on a game project at Basegames several times, mostly because of the radical changes the client demanded that we didn't agree on, but because it was for a paying customer, I soldiered on, even knowing I wasn't getting paid because this was for our sister company, the one that made the Neko website.
Not getting paid for something I should get paid for is a damn good reason for lack of motivation.
So in conclusion, I don't care if the project doesn't furfill your big, ambitious promises, but please have the decency to wrap it up.
