No, it does not work like that.
Did the guy make custom work? Yes.
That doesn't avoid his work from being utter shit. There's literally no effort on those, just check those copy-pasted body and head poses. There isn't anything that can be salvaged here.
This being said, his main focus shouldn't be on making a sheet, even. He must know the very basics such as smooth outlining, drawing basic forms, studying anatomy A LOT and then attempting a static pose. When he gets the still pose right, then he can start worrying about studying animation.
We're here to help, yes, but if the OP doesn't show iniciative to learn, then I feel I shouldn't waste my time on this.
