Whoops, looks like I previewed my post earlier but completely forgot to submit it. Stupid me.
Anyway, I saw this while browsing on the internet on my not-so-smart smartphone this morning and I was thoroughly interested. I decided to give one a try.

Oh, and a quick word of advice: you aren't always restricted to just black. Be creative! A lot of the time a pure black color doesn't look right; instead experiment with, for instance, a much darker version of the main body color. Not too dark, though, because you don't want too much contrast. Yes, I'm quite well aware of the fact that most contributors are trying to mimic the style of the original card art; nonetheless, this is still pixel art!
For instance, the second Feraligatr in Neo Genesis looks nice with the light black; it's easier on the eyes. Also, I'd advise using a more off-white color in most cases, but that's at times just a personal preference.
Improvise!
Hm. That wasn't very quick, was it?
Also, I'm gonna try Meganium from Neo Gen (the first one, #10/111) if that's okay.
