[INDEV] The Legend of Zelda: The Lost Warrior *Made with Project Zelda Engine*
#21
im not going to sugarcoat anything; this looks like a mess.

this entire project looks like it was someone's first project that was based on a fanfiction they wrote up in a couple hours to try to make a canon alternate universe for zelda title. the ideas are not really great, graphics look pretty subpar with the terrible filters applied to them, and trying to make a canonical zelda fangame like this doesn't work out ever. i am only going to analyze 1 screenshot of yours;

why is the deku tree transparent and shooting fireballs? it's a tree - it can't move or really do anything. if you are going to make it attack, make it do things that are relevant to it's theme - i don't care if it's a ghost or not - by making it, for example, use nature. the deku tree was the spirit of nature basically, and therefore would likely be able to control things like roots, seeds, etc.; make it spawn roots that grab/stab link, seeds that spawn plantlike enemies, etc.

in addition, it's still a tree, it poses little to no threat other than falling on you. make your own resources, like a personification of the deku tree as a human as his spirit form; it would let the boss actually be mobile and it would make more sense for a tree's spirit to not just be another tree.

and to analyze other elements of this fangame, you say it's in no way like ocarina of time. master sword is a fine thing as it's in most zelda games. ocarina of time makes sense only in timelines where oot is directly involved.the hylian shield's design changes every game due to it being based off of historical events in hyrule's past. i read a bit of the storyline and if i hadn't had already guessed it was basically a minor change to oot in general based on the screenshots, the logo, and everything else, the storyline would have made it obvious anyways.

to be entirely honest, i personally think hans von hozel's zelda fanfiction is more original than this

again, i am not sugarcoating anything - what you apparently spent 2 years writing, i could have wrote an equally on-par storyline in 2 hours. i am not flaming, i am merely stating my opinion and the various facts based on what i gathered from this entire project.
