I think that it's possible that we are interpreting the blocking move differently, I was thinking of it as a button or combo that you would hold down to remain in guarding status to reduce damage, minimize knockback, and prevent negative statuses while preventing you from attacking, such as in Street Fighter. Both of your defense animations look like robo is in the middle of deflecting an attack, and the shield vanishes after he has suceeded in doing so. I am not sure if this is intentional or not, if it isn't, I suggest that you keep that outwards pulse (whick I like a lot, by the way
) but have a more solid seeming shield floating behind it constantly, as if it was generating the pulse, I will draw up an example of what I mean in a moment.
