Thanks
I (very badly) traced my original picture using my tablet, hoping that it would be the same but with a white background. Unfortunately tracing is extremely hard, because my tablet is a USB one that doesn't show the screen itself, so I have to look at the screen and draw on the tablet while trying to draw exactly on the lines. But anyway now there's colour, you can see it in my original post (or here if you're too lazy). I got the hat colour, which I hadn't initially decided on yet, from Previous' picture (both for consistency and because it's nice). I also got the skin colour from there because I suck at choosing skin colours.
I was planning to draw on paper and trace on the PC, but I don't think that's gonna work now. From now I'll just leave most pictures to drawn straight away with the tablet (which will probably take some practice, but it doesn't need to be as carefully done as tracing), and once I have access to a scanner I can then scan my pictures in good quality with white backgrounds.
