Wario shook the villain image a long time ago. And I'm glad. Now he's greedy bastard who'll do anything for gold and glory.

To be truthful, that's a really bad excuse not to have him be a villain again.

True he is chaotic neutral, that doesn't mean he can't be the bad guy again given that he's greedy. If anything he could be a recurring mini-boss which would be pretty damn interesting for this game. It'd be better than having bowser jr. and the koopalings being every single boss.
